Aalborg Industries is looking for a result oriented and open minded procurement manager to our trade office in Shanghai. You will be part of our global organization, which provides professional marine boiler solutions and energy equipment to a dynamic and competitive market.
Tasks and challenges
As our new procurement manager you will be overall responsible of our specialized procurement team covering the Group’s request for low-cost country sourcing. The trade office Shanghai is entitled to sell components and commodities internally in the AI Group in accordance with the Group price-setting policies. You will report directly to the managing director of Aalborg Industries, Ltd., Shanghai.
The main tasks and responsibilities in the position are:
Procurement manager for Aalborg Industries Ltd., (SHA), covering all commercial negotiations with suppliers according to procurement strategy
Management of the procurement staff in the Shanghai trade office
Ensuring that suppliers of the functional area meet the Group’s requirements as to quality and delivery performance, including prequalification, selection and approval of suppliers used
Evaluate alternative supplier options and benchmarking of prices, products and services
Draw up and complete schedules of local supplier negotiations
Ensure that the product catalogue is maintained and continuously developed with new products
Draw up, set the targets for and implement local budgets and activity plans within the agreed time limits
Participation in local management meetings and designing the procurement and logistics strategy of the Group
Ensure a fruitful cooperation with other functional areas in Shanghai and AI entities, including support to global category management and programme management.
Your competences We are looking for a colleague with a background as a purchaser, purchase manager, lead buyer or similar with a deep understanding of the supply market in Asia based on a solid international business experience. You have top level negotiation experience and basic knowledge of international legal trade rules combined with technical flair and understanding.
As a person you have a high personal drive and a commercial, winning attitude. Your work style is characterised by excellent analytic skills combined with a holistic oriented view for the final result. You are able to cooperate and communicate at all levels in the organization. English, spoken and written, must be mastered at negotiation level.
